Dayton and Walla Walla Valley wines have become world–renowned for their quality. So, of course, touring the local
wineries has become one of the premier attractions in the area. We've provided information and links to help you plan
tours of VINEYARDS and visits to their tasting rooms. And we’ll be happy to help you with maps and more information
when you arrive at the Manor.

Dayton and Walla Walla both offer many activities in their award–winning revitalized
historic DOWNTOWN areas.

Walk just 2 blocks from the Manor, where you can browse fine art galleries and antique
shops on Dayton's downtown Main Street. You’ll also find that because of the fine
restaurants, theaters and pubs, the downtown streets are still humming with activity on
many nights. As a matter of fact, visitors come from far and wide primarily for the cuisine
at our fine restaurants.

Of course, there’s always GOLF ! You’ll find easy access to several public golf courses. If you need to borrow clubs, we
can help … just bring your glove and shoes.

History

Dayton is rich with HISTORICAL significance. Most notably, Lewis and Clark's epic journey to the Pacific Ocean
brought them down the path that is now Main Street. You can find interesting and informative museums and
historical sites in the area. Walking–tours of Dayton’s historic homes (which includes McCann Manor)
especially appeal to history buffs and those interested in period architecture.

Mountains, Rivers & Lakes

The Blue Mountains surrounding Dayton offer many alternatives for OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. The local
mountains, rivers and lakes provide boating, horse trails, birding, hiking, mountain biking, hunting and
fishing. In the winter, there’s great downhill and cross–country skiing. Of course, just playing in the snow
can be great fun! Or just take a long walk and enjoy a picnic lunch by a stream among the pines. In the
winter, the nearby Veterans Memorial Golf Course provides cross–country skiing and sledding.
